About Rotary Club of Cape Coral

Our Mission

We provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through our fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.  Our Rotary motto is “Service Above Self.”

We Are Rotary

Rotary brings together people like you, from all walks of life, who want to use their expertise for good.  People whose sense of responsibility inspires them to give back to their communities.  At Rotary, we connect for good, and form lifelong friendships in the process.  Together, we empower youth, improve health, promote peace, and advance our communities in all corners of the globe.  With 1.2 million members in 34,000 clubs worldwide, our global community’s impact has never been greater – and it continues to grow.

Our History

Chartered on May 21, 1964, The Rotary Club of Cape Coral was born,  with 25 Charter Members, who met at the Cape Coral Yacht & Racquet Club.  Some of our early projects include building the Memorial Arch at the foot of the Cape Coral Bridge, planting hibiscus in median strips, building bicycle racks at school bus stops, and building a Welcome Sign at the entrance to Cape Coral for service club insignias. We are the organizers of the Cape Coral Art Festival, our Club’s longest running event, and the Cardboard Boat Regatta. In collaboration with the Goldcoast Club and Rotary North (now Sunset), our Club built Rotary Park and Rotary Community Garden. More current projects include the Safe Zone project, Books and Bibs for Babies, and many scholarships given to Cape Coral high school students every year.
